What to play? What to Watch? How to find it and how long will it take?

Some decent solutions exist for music, but how about all the other content?

The last decade has seen revolutionary changes to the sources, types and availability of entertainment choices. Cable and satellite television make available thousands of programs a day.   Music is everywhere.  It is not unusual for people to have libraries of many thousands of songs.  The internet offers instant delivery of movies, music and TV shows in addition to millions of amateur videos.

These revolutionary changes and the exponential growth of available media, the means to deal with it all has barely evolved.

With this explosive growth in content, there has been almost no growth in the means to go from the decision to enjoy "something" to the actual enjoyment.

The hardware has become much smaller and the Walkman, Portable PC and the mobile phone have been combined and made much smaller and more powerful. But their relative ease of use has stayed about the same.  That is changing.

FEATURES COMPARED

The DMR Peregrin operating system and user interface is well positioned to provide Consumer Electronics manufacturers what they have proved unable to provide for themselves:  Ease of Use.

Using the current darling of the industry, Apple's spectacular iPad, with only 6 touches or swipes you can  expose about 120 choices.  One more touch and the search expands to either an additional 24 selections or, if you are lucky, a vertical list.  That is great for a small library of songs or music videos.  If you have several thousand songs, hundreds of music videos, a few dozen seasons of TV shows and a large library of stored movies or movies that you can stream from Amazon, you are going to be a while getting to what you want.

The storied Peregrine Falcon is a very effective hunter, having sorted it prey, it will dive on it at over 200 miles per hour.  That is a very good analogy for it's namesake software.

Simple Wireless Home Automation

The seven touches and getting to a bit over 140 choices with our iPad, those same 7 touches on a Peregrin enabled system would allow you to drill though to about 531,441songs.  One more touch and you are well into the millions of possibilities.

Best of all, almost everybody knows how to work the interface already.  They use it every day.

DMR owns the IP behind the 3 x 3 user matrix and its the matrix everybody knows.  At the top of the page you see the software in action.  Screen1 - Touch Music (or 1 on the remote). Next, because our user has a huge collection, we get a screen of genres and select Country.  From the next screen I select "Faith Hill" and I'm listening to her.  4 touches.

But wait until you see what it can do with video!
